This guide is for children who have a brother or sister with aplastic anaemia.

Finding out your brother or sister has aplastic anaemia can come as a bit of a shock, and you might have lots of questions and different feelings about it. This guide will help you understand what aplastic anaemia is, what it means for you and your family, and how you can help.

What’s in this guide?

This guide has been put together with the help of children who have been through aplastic anaemia. It talks about how you might feel when your brother or sister has to be away from you for a long time, and what happens if you are asked to be tested to see if you are a match for a stem cell transplant. There are lots of tips from children who have been through what you and your family are going through. This guide also covers how you can talk to your family about your feelings, and ideas for how you can support your brother or sister as they get better.
