Get your running shoes on!

Join The AAT team and run the world's biggest half marathon the 8th September 2024!

There is always such a great atmosphere at this event and we can not wait to cheer you on. 

It doesn't matter if you're a keen runner or someone who doesn't own running shoes yet, the fantastic atmosphere of the day will keep you going until you get to the finish line, where are cheer squad will be standing to get you over the last 200 meters. 

You'll be sent a running vest to wear on the day.

Fundraising

We ask our runners to cover some of the entry cost and commit to raising £500 to support our work. Don't let the target put you off, people are always surprised by how much they raise.

We'll offer you support to help you smash that target.

Funding Research
This year The AAT will be investigating new treatment options, that could offer hope to more people, and improve quality of life for patients and their families. 

Providing support

• Provide a young child with a story book that explains what aplastic anaemia is and what they can expect from a long stay in hospital - making the long and difficult treatment less frightening.
• Make sure there is always some one on the end of the phone. Having someone to talk to who understands, who you don't have to explain your condition to again and again. The AAT hotline ensures no one is alone.

What happens next

Sign up for the event below, and we'll update your details on the Great North Run website (coming soon) and you will be sent a token to register for the event. All runners will receive a race pack from the organisers in the post a week or so before the event.
