7 Half Marathons in 7 days Donate Fundraise Andrew and Liam are going to run 7 Half Marathons in 7 days, on the 23rd to 29th March 2026. In around May 2021 our dad, Chris, was diagnosed with severe Aplastic Anaemia. From that point on he had battle after battle with the treatment for this illness and subsequent cancer diagnosis. Dad fought and overcame every hurdle this illness threw at him. In the summer of 2025 it finally looked like he had turned the corner, and things were looking brighter for him and us. However, in a cruel twist in around October 2025 he once again became incredibly ill and so quickly. He spent most of these last few months in hospital, still courageously fighting everyday. Unfortunately, on the 25th January 2026 our dad fought his last battle and he passed away. For both of us, this was the worst and most emotional day of our lives. He left behind his wife who he had been with for 45 years, three sons and two beautiful grandchildren. Dad was the most courageous, hardworking, dedicated, motivated and bravest man on this planet. A man from the humblest of backgrounds who dedicated his whole life to giving his three sons the best opportunities this life has to offer, so they did not have to face the same struggles that he did. In honour of his memory we are going to run 7 half marathons in 7 days to raise money for charity, that is 147.7km in a week. This is a test far beyond anything either of us have ever attempted before. It is going to be a huge physical and mental test, but anything less would be a disservice to our dad. We are going to start and finish each of these runs at a location that was important to our dad. We have elected to raise money for the Aplastic Anaemia Trust. The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity in the UK focused on Aplastic Anaemia; funding research to improve treatment, provide expert information, and working tirelessly, at grassroots level, to support Aplastic Anaemia patients and their loved ones. Aplastic Anaemia is a rare life-threatening auto-immune disease that stops the bone marrow from producing blood, effecting roughly 1 in every 500,000 people. In truth we had never even heard of Aplastic Anaemia 5 years ago. We cannot express what a terrible illness this is, and how much it eventually destroyed the strongest man we both know. It is probably the worst illness that you have never heard of. It would mean the world to both of us if you could support us and donate via this page. If we can help improve the life of one person and their family, we can take something positive from this otherwise awful situation. We are setting a fundraising target of £3000. Thank you.
