Walks

Join us for a walk!

A walk is a wonderful way to connect with other families who have been through similar tough times and enjoy nature and the fresh air together. We organise as many walks as we can around February / March time, to coincide with Rare Disease Day. Our flagship walk in the Peak District, around Ladybower Reservoir, with the Yorkshire Bridge Inn is an annual highlight for many of our community.

We had a great day thank you! That was the most exercise I've done since being in hospital and then isolation with my 9 year old for his BMT so I'm a bit achy!

Organise a walk

If you don't see a walk near you and would like to organise one, we would love to help you do that, and could invite others nearby to join you. You can find some lovely route suggestions on the National Trails Website. Get in touch with Hannah at [email protected] or call her on 07849691356.

After almost losing our little girl to Aplastic Anaemia last year we wanted to do something to give back to an incredible charity who did so much to support us. We arranged an epic 16.5 mile trek from Tamworth Castle to Birmingham City Centre to raise funds for The Aplastic Anaemia Trust

March For Erica was an incredible success and we were joined by friends, family, Aplastic Anaemia survivors and one the AAT team who had travelled up from London.

By the end of it there were some very, very tired legs but an overwhelming sense of pride at what we had accomplished.

Our target was to raise £500 and in the end we smashed it with a figure of £2020!! Thank you to every single person that donated, took part, shared our posts and have supported us.

- Chris organised March for Erica in Birmingham for our annual Super Rare campaign
