This guide is for young people who have a brother or sister with aplastic anaemia.

Finding out a member of your family has aplastic anaemia can come as a bit of a shock, and it's likely you won't have heard of the condition before. This guide will help you understand what aplastic anaemia is, what it means for you and your family, and how you can help.

What’s in this guide?

This guide has been put together with the help of young people who have been through aplastic anaemia. It talks about how you might deal with separation as a family, and what happens if you are asked to be tested to see if you are a match for a stem cell transplant. There are lots of tips from people who have been through what you and your family are going through. It talks about how you can support your own mental health, as well as ideas for how you can support your brother or sister through their treatment.
