Information and advice for children and young people affected by aplastic anaemia

Welcome to MarrowKidz from The Aplastic Anaemia Trust. Here you can find resources for children and young people affected by aplastic anaemia - and for their families, friends and support networks. Select your age range above to browse information relevant to you.

A big thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund - we couldn't have done this without you!

This report covers the progress of the MarrowKidz programme up to 1 January 2021. This mid-programme assessment highlights some key successes so far. We also outline some changes made to the programme as a result of unforeseen challenges (including the Covid-19 pandemic), and insight collected as part of the discovery phase.

These are some of the successes highlighted in the report:

  • Engagement with young people and family members increased by almost 50% in the first year.
  • 38 resources have been published and are available to download or order in print form.
  • The new website launched on 7 November and as of 31 December had attracted 730 unique page views. (Impressive for an information resource about an ultra-rare disease!)
  • 397 MarrowKidz printed booklets have been ordered via the website so far. (24 were ordered by patients; the rest were ordered to be sent out to treatment centres by AAT staff.)
  • 36 young people/family members contributed to the project, with half responding
