What are steroids?
Steroids are chemicals that work in lots of different ways to keep your body healthy. Your body makes its own steroids, but they can also be manufactured so they can be given to you as tablets or liquid, or maybe in an injection. Steroids are an important part of keeping you safe and stopping you from feeling unwell while you have anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) treatment for aplastic anaemia.
