My cousin was diagnosed with aplastic anaemia after falling ill in February 2020 at just seven years old. We had never heard about this condition before. My cousin became very poorly over time and had to have a bone marrow transplant. Our family was lucky as his little sister, aged two, was able to donate her bone marrow to him which led to a successful transplant. The treatment involved was very gruelling and my cousin was very poorly. I want to raise awareness of this condition and also the work that the aplastic anaemia trust do as they provided our family with lots of information and support. I dont want any families to go through what we have gone through or worse.

I am going to walk every day for 30 minutes in February 2021 to raise money for this charity Lauren Starkey
