Brendan's grandson, Daniel was diagnosed with the life-threatening condition Very Severe Aplastic Anaemia in September 2012. Brendan witnessed the battle Daniel had with frequent transfusions and intrusive treatments. He would sit with Daniel for hours at a time at Great Ormond Street and Basildon Hospitals bringing his sense of fun brightening up the days. Brendan would go off in search of whatever food Daniel desired, which were usually crusty ham rolls and the pair would sit together and devour them!

Brendan requested on his passing if his dear family & friends could donate to The Aplastic Anaemia Trust who have been a great support . So please, please give what you can - it's a tiny charity.

Our heartfelt thanks.
