Aplastic Anaemia is a rare type of bone marrow failure that you've probably never heard of. It's where the bone marrow stops creating all kinds of blood cells. It's really rare and affects 1 in every half a million people.

Aplastic anaemia treatment is very similar to the treatment someone might have for leukaemia, with some people needing a bone marrow transplant.

My daughter Elsie had a transplant on the 24th May and on the 6th June, we shaved what was remaining of her hair.

I’d always said I’d be more than happy to shave mine if she needed me to do it before her to show her the clippers aren’t so scary. However, she coped really well and I haven’t had to shave it, but a few mentioned doing it with her anyway so when she comes out, we can be little eggs together.

So I’m taking this opportunity to raise some money for The Aplastic Anaemia Trust, as a little way of thanking them for the continued support I’ve received going through this with such a young child.

By donating you will help families like mine access information and support.

Thank you

Laura and Elise
