In October 2021, I will be running in the Oxford Half-Marathon to raise money for Aplastic Anaemia.

In August of 2015 one of my best friends Tash was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia. "Aplastic Anaemia is a condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. The condition leaves you fatigued and more prone to infections and uncontrolled bleeding" (Mayo Clinic). Tash's symptoms were confused with many other conditions, and she was originally misdiagnosed 3 times as Aplastic Anaemia is so rare.

Tash is a very important person in my life, she is one of my best friends, the mother to our perfect God-daughter and my biggest fitness inspiration. It doesn't matter if she's tired, if it's cold or if it's raining, she still manages to get up and stay active. She will be my inspiration to keep going in this half marathon, even if the old knee wants to explode.

Please donate to this wonderful cause and help other people like my friend Tash.

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust - "Our mission is to enable vital research into the causes of aplastic anaemia and other rare bone marrow failures that ultimately leads to finding a cure, and to support everyone affected by them, so they can lead healthy and fulfilling lives."
