Kim was diagnosed with Severe aplastic anaemia in April.

Kim was going for weekly blood and platlette transfusions whilst waiting to start the gruelling ATG treatment on 5th July. It was unbelievable how much courage and strength Kim showed. Unfortunately Kim was taken to hospital on Sunday 27th June where she underwent two major operations. She was in ICU for 11 days but unfortunately her health started to decline, Kim’s daughter never left her side. On the 11th July Kim passed away peacefully with her daughter and son in law by her side. Kim’s family are extremely proud of her, she never stopped fighting and never gave up. This disease has left her family absolutely heartbroken.

This page has been set up for everyone donating to the The Aplastic Anaemia Trust in memory of Kim.

By donating you will be;

  • Helping fund research this year The AAT be investigating new treatment options, that could offer hope to more people, and improve quality of life for patients and their families.
  • Help provide support to people with aplastic aneamia and their families;                                                                                      Provide a young child with a story book that explains what aplastic anaemia is and what they can expect from a long stay in hospital - making the long and difficult treatment less frightening.
    Make sure there is always some one on the end of the phone. Having someone to talk to who understands, who you don't have to explain your condition to again and again. The AAT hotline ensures no one is alone.
