If you enjoy sports and have family, friends, neighbours or colleagues at work who are also into keeping fit, then why not indulge yourself in organising a challenge day, getting that oxygen moving around the body and raising money for the AAT? Fun - guaranteed!

Here are some ideas:

  • Rugby 7s tournament
  • Football 5-a-side
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • A golf day
  • A sponsored horse ride...

And here are some helpful steps to help you plan your sporting event:

  1. Find a suitable date and location to accommodate your crowd of sporting enthusiasts, and make sure you get permission if needed
  2. Promote your event wherever you can in plenty of time before the day, and make sure you've got your social media hat on, on the day - tweet, go on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat through the day - to raise awareness of your excellent effort for our cause. You can also promote your event on our website
  3. Depending on the type of activity you choose, you'll need to be clear on the rules
  4. If your challenge day is a whopper you may need to think about obtaining adequate insurance cover and have a first aider to hand
  5. Have a sweepstake, sell tickets and refreshments - it's all about raising money whilst having fun!
  6. People are competitive and would love to push themselves some more if there was a prize (however small) in sight!
  7. Make sure you've got plenty of time and helpers to set up on the day. We can help you with branded materials and money collecting tins
  8. Have fun, break a sweat and help us find a cure for aplastic anaemia!
