Aplastic Anaemia

Awareness Day 2018

Sunday 4th March is Aplastic Anaemia Awareness Day when we invite as many of you as possible to raise funds for the Aplastic Anaemia Trust and awareness of aplastic anaemia.

Last year’s Awareness Day raised over £8,000 and we are aiming to smash that amount this year!!!! In the 30+ years since it was founded, the AAT has made a profound difference to many lives. 30 years ago, no more than 1 in 10 patients survived for a year. Today, 8 out of 10 will be treated so that they have a good quality of life. However, because aplastic anaemia is so rare we do not attract the same interest and support as some major charities. We are totally dependent on the money that we raise ourselves with the help of our supporters.

On Aplastic Anaemia Awareness Day we need your help in telling people about AA and the work The AAT. If you would like to combine this with fundraising that would be great! We are not asking you to run a triathlon or swim the English Channel (although you can if you want!). Coffee mornings, dress-down days at work, cake sales are all simple but effective ways of raising money.

If you would like to join us on 4th March and help us to continue funding AA research and supporting patients for the next 30 years, please contact Bryony at support@theaat.org.uk or call her 0n 0870 487 0099 for an Awareness Day pack.
